Overview
Czech Hedgehog — The Original Anti-Tank Steel Barrier
The Czech Hedgehog is a historically proven static anti-tank obstacle, constructed from three L-profile steel angle beams (L140×140×13 mm) welded at right angles to form a three-dimensional spatial cross. Originally designed by the Czechoslovak military in the 1930s, it has been deployed in every major European conflict from World War II to the current Russo-Ukrainian War, where it has seen a dramatic resurgence in demand.
Each barrier unit weighs 240 kg (standard variant) and is designed to stop light-to-medium armored vehicles by lifting their tracks or wheels off the ground upon contact. The barrier is effective regardless of orientation — even when tipped over by explosions or pushed aside, it remains a functional obstacle. Its simple, robust design allows for rapid mass production in any steel fabrication facility worldwide.
Manufactured from structural steel per EN 10025 S235JR/S355JR standards, each unit features gusset plate reinforcements, square base plates to prevent ground sinking, and barbed wire attachment notches for integrated perimeter defense. The modular design allows for rapid deployment in linear or staggered formations, combined with dragon's teeth, barbed wire, and Hesco barriers for comprehensive defensive lines.

FEATURES
Key Features
Battle-Proven Design
Combat-tested since 1937 across WWII, Cold War, and modern conflicts including the Russo-Ukrainian War. Proven effective against light-to-medium armored vehicles.
Omni-Directional Effectiveness
Functions regardless of orientation. Even when tipped over or displaced by explosions, the spatial cross geometry continues to block or impede vehicle movement effectively.
Rapid Mass Production
Simple welded steel construction allows any fabrication shop to produce 60-80 units/day with 20 welders. Low-tech, no specialized equipment required.
Integrated Perimeter Defense
Features barbed wire attachment notches and square base plates. Can be combined with dragon's teeth, Hesco barriers, and concertina wire for layered defense.
Export-Optimized Packaging
Available in flat-pack bolt-together configuration. 20 ft container can hold 60-80 units disassembled, significantly reducing shipping costs for bulk orders.
